Yesmine Abdelkefi

Organisational Management Consultant

With a degree in Political Science and Economics, Yesmine is interested in human rights and civil society work in the Middle East and North Africa. During her academic career, she worked closely with a group of Syrian youth newly settled in Montreal to facilitate their integration by teaching them French and maintaining rich discussions about life in Montreal. She was also an editor with Journalists for Human Rights at McGill University.

Yesmine had the opportunity to do a summer internship with Equitas - Centre for Human Rights Education, where she worked on project management as a logistics coordinator.

Upon graduation, Yesmine continued her work with Equitas by joining the Middle East and North Africa team. There, she had the opportunity to work on various projects that address issues of women's empowerment and gender-based violence, adopting a participatory human rights-based approach. She has also supported project partners in terms of individual and organisational capacity building.

Yesmine is currently deployed in Tunisia with the Tunisian Forum for Youth Empowerment (TFYE) as a Child Rights Advisor.
