Mariama Dione

Regional Manager - Subsaharan Africa

Mariama holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of Montreal. She has more than 10 years of experience in project management, partnership development and human resources in several organizations in Quebec. She began her career as a regional development officer in an organisation whose mission is to promote and develop children's interest in culture and scientific and technological leisure activities. Sensitive to the issue of community service development, she held a position as Project Manager of the Memory Walk for the North Shore Alzheimer Society, with the main task of organizing their largest fundraising campaign.

She then moved into human resources as Volunteer and Services Coordinator for an organization in Montreal that offers socio-community services focused on the well-being and overall health of seniors. Aware of the reality of community organizations, she brought her expertise to the Centre d'action bénévole de Rosemont as a member of the Board of Directors. Previously, she was involved with Frontier College from 2007 to 2010 and was involved with the Fondation Paul Gérin Lajoie for the francisation and literacy of children.

A Canadian of Senegalese origin, she currently lives in Burkina Faso where she began a career in international development at the Canadian Centre for International Studies and Cooperation as a volunteer and partner support officer. At the end of her mandate she joined the IBCR in July 2021 hoping to continue to contribute in my own way to the issue of child rights protection. Mariama has solid experience in planning, organisation, evaluation, supervision of volunteer teams and organisational structure analysis.

Mariama joined the PRIDE team on July 2021.
