Ousmane Diarra

Legal Advisor

Dr Ousmane Diarra holds a Master's degree and a doctorate in law from the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences of the Cheikh Anta University in Dakar and has more than 10 years' experience in human rights in the context of HIV. As a legal expert, he has worked with  the United Nations,  the African Union and for several Senegalese and international NGOs on human rights and child protection.

As part of his professional activities, he has conducted several human rights missions in the context of HIV. In Senegal, he has conducted some twenty training missions in Dakar, Thiès, Matam and Mbour, Diourbel, Kédougou, Kaolack and Kaffrine. Outside the country, he has carried out three missions in Uganda, Burundi and Tunisia.

 In terms of writing, Dr Diarra has participated in the drafting of several documents including

-The national referential on human rights and HIV for the National AIDS Control Council (CNLS) of Senegal;

-Document analysing Senegalese texts that are favourable or unfavourable to the response to HIV;

-Guide référentiel de l'environnement juridique des populations clés en Afrique for the Panos Institute;

Dr DIARRA is also a graduate in crisis and emergency management from the Nahalal International Management Institute in Israel.

He is currently a legal advisor in children's rights at the Clinique d'Expertise Juridique et Sociale (CEJUS) in Togo.
