Ousmane Sankare

Holder of a Master’s degree in Law obtained in 2017 from the University of Private Law in Bamako, Mali. He is currently pursuing a Master 2 in International Relations and Diplomacy.

His professional career began as an associate in law firms, before becoming a legal and judicial assistant with the JUPREC project in Mali, funded by Global Affairs Canada and implemented by Avocats Sans Frontières Canada. It was here that he began to forge his path towards humanitarian assistance, with a particular passion for the protection of human rights, focusing on the most vulnerable communities, especially women and children.

This passion eventually led him to redirect his career towards humanitarian work as a safety and security manager, where he is convinced he can make a significant contribution to the relief of populations in need. His humanitarian experience began in the national office of World Vision Mali, an organisation known for its commitment to the well-being of children and vulnerable communities.

He then broadened his experience by working with renowned organisations including UNESCO, ACTED France in Mali and WeWorld GVC Italy in Mali, holding key positions in security and safety.

In October 2023, Ousmane SANKARE joined the IBCR team as Head of Security for the Mali country office. This new step in his career underlines his ongoing commitment to the protection of human rights, particularly those of women and children, in a context where security is crucial.
