Organisational Management Consultant

SUMMARY OF THE OFFER  

The International Bureau for Children's Rights (IBCR), a Canadian NGO dedicated to the protection and promotion of children's rights, is seeking, within the framework of its PRIDE volunteer cooperation programme, a consultant in organisational management to enable its partner, the Centre for Education and Social Reintegration of Minors in Conflict with the Law (CERMICOL)

Through this mandate, share your skills and expertise to advise, assist, and train the CERMICOL team to optimize its organizational performance to support the implementation of its human rights mission. The mandate includes defining strategies, designing various plans for the organisation and developing management, planning and monitoring tools, among other tasks. 

ABOUT THE PARTNER

Located in Bobo-Dioulasso, the Centre d'éducation et de réinsertion sociale des mineurs en conflit avec la loi (CERMICOL) is a reception structure that promotes the supervision, education and social reintegration of minors in conflict with the law. The social reintegration strategy promoted by the centre aims to guarantee the child an individual educational pathway that takes into account his or her situation (personal, psychological, educational, professional, family and social) and a prior environmental assessment that favours his or her socio-professional reintegration.

RESPONSIBILITIES  

The volunteer will be responsible for : 

  • To contribute to the reinforcement of CERMICOL's capacities in the development of organisational strategies and project management tools, through the realisation of reflection workshops and the definition of the organisation's strategic axes
  • Support CERMICOL in :
    • Identifying its needs in terms of organisational management
    • Strengthening the capitalisation of its experience and good practices (process definition, creation of tools, etc.) and their dissemination
    • Developing or revising tools for planning, day-to-day management and monitoring-evaluation of the organisation's projects and programmes
    • The construction of a Strategic Orientation Plan, an Operational Plan and a 5-year Organisational Development Plan (2022-2027);
    • Developing management and planning tools to improve organisational performance 
    • Develop and deliver training workshops on organisational dynamics and management
    • Support the strengthening of the partner organisation in terms of work organisation, information management, communication or any other activity related to its expertise  

Other tasks related to the PRIDE project :  

  • Support the start-up of PRIDE's Social Laboratory activities in Burkina Faso
  • Write progress reports on the activities carried out
  • Participate in the promotion of international volunteering in Canada by participating in IBCR's communication efforts (writing articles or blog posts on the volunteering experience, videos, interviews, events...) 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE  

Requirements:

Technical skills :  

  • Bachelor and/or Master's degree in administration, organisational management, project management or equivalent 
  • At least 2 to 3 years professional experience in project or organisational management
  • Experience in developing a strategic plan
  • Knowledge of project management and/or M&E learning programmes
  • Strong analytical and writing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 

Human skills :  

  • Highly adaptable and flexible in the face of change
  • Excellent interpersonal and participatory skills
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, multi-task and be proactive 
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and gender equality
  • Promotion of a culture of learning and knowledge sharing within the partner organisation's team and with other volunteers 

Assets

  • Experience in a developing country or in international cooperation
  • Knowledge of and/or interest in human or children's rights
  • Knowledge of gender equality principles
