SUMMARY OF THE OFFER : 

The International Bureau for Children's Rights (IBCR), a Canadian NGO dedicated to the protection and promotion of children's rights, is looking for a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) and Project Management Advisor to support its partner, Fondation Amane pour la Protection de l'Enfance (FAPE), as part of its PRIDE (Project for the Integral Strengthening of Children's Rights) voluntary cooperation programme.

Through this mandate, share your skills and expertise to advise, strengthen, and train the FAPE team in M&E and project management to support them in the implementation of their mission. The mandate includes the elaboration of a SoTL diagnostic, the design of related tools, technical support to the various activities of the organisation, among other tasks.

ABOUT THE PARTNER : 

The Fondation Amane pour la Protection de l'Enfance (FAPE) is an association that works to improve the living conditions of children from families in difficult circumstances in the province of Taroudant and throughout Morocco. Its work focuses on qualitative, relational and transitional social work and the development of a territorial child protection system. It benefits from Moroccan and international expertise in social work, paediatrics, education, safeguarding and children's rights.

RESPONSIBILITIES : 

The volunteer will be responsible for :

  • Support FAPE in : 
  • Carrying out a diagnosis of the organisation's monitoring, evaluation and learning methods and tools and identifying its needs
  • Updating the monitoring, evaluation and learning framework of the organisation's projects, taking into account the gender-based approach
  • Strengthening its capacity in monitoring, evaluation and learning and project management through consultancy, team training and the development of related materials
  • Equipping and training the organisation's team in the implementation of the project monitoring, evaluation and learning framework
  • Provide technical and methodological support to the partner organisation in the development and updating of SoTL and project management plans, procedures and tools
  • Actively participate in PRIDE initiatives, events or activities planned by the partner organisation
  • Support the strengthening of the partner organisation in all other activities related to its expertise

Other tasks related to the PRIDE project :  

  • Support the activities of the PRIDE Social Laboratory 
  • Write progress reports on the activities carried out during the mandate  
  • Participate in the promotion of international volunteering in Canada by contributing to IBCR's communication efforts (writing articles or blog posts on the volunteering experience, videos, interviews, events...) 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE : 

REQUIREMENTS :

Technical skills:

  • Undergraduate degree in management, social sciences or related field
  • 3 to 5 years experience in project management and monitoring
  • In-depth knowledge of results-based management
  • Ability to prepare and facilitate trainings and provide recommendations
  • Strong analytical, organisational and synthesis skills
  • Mastery of information technology
  • Mastery of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and of tools in the Outlook environment (Teams, mail, SharePoint, Forms, etc.) and Google (Google Docs, Google Drive, Gmail, etc.)

People skills :  

  • High adaptability and ability to be flexible in the face of change
  • Excellent interpersonal and participatory skills
  • Ability to work both in a team and independently
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, multi-task and be proactive
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and gender equality
  • Promotion of a culture of learning and knowledge sharing within the partner organisation's team and with other volunteers

STRENGTHS :

  • Knowledge of written and spoken Arabic
  • Experience in a developing country or in international cooperation
  • Knowledge of and/or interest in human and/or children's rights
  • Knowledge of gender equality principles
  • Knowledge of international development issues
  • Knowledge of Canada's volunteer cooperation programme

About the PRIDE programme: 

The Project for the Integral Enhancement of Children's Rights (PRIDE), implemented by the International Bureau for Children's Rights (IBCR), aims to improve the well-being and protection of children, especially girls, and to promote their rights worldwide in a sustainable manner.  

The seven-year project (2020-2027) is part of Canada's Volunteer Cooperation Programme and will see over 250 professional volunteers deployed in 11 countries. 

By sharing the skills of these volunteers and qualified mentors with a network of committed partners, PRIDE contributes to the strengthening of child protection in the countries where it is present.
