Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Advisor

SUMMARY OF THE OFFER  
The International Bureau for Children's Rights (IBCR), a Canadian NGO dedicated to the protection and promotion of children's rights, is seeking, as part of its PRIDE volunteer cooperation programme, a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Advisor to support its partner, the Association des Femmes Juristes de la Cote d'Ivoire (AFJCI).   Through this mandate, share your skills and expertise to advise, assist, and train the team of the Association des Femmes Juristes de Côte d'Ivoire (AFJCI) in monitoring, evaluation and learning related to its projects to support the implementation of its missions. The mandate includes the development and revision of monitoring and evaluation tools and the improvement of existing processes, among other tasks. 
 
ABOUT THE PARTNER 
Created in 1984, the Association des Femmes Juristes de Côte d’Ivoire (AFJCI) aims to make respect for the fundamental rights of the family, women and children, and access to law and justice a reality for everyone in Côte d'Ivoire. It has various missions, in particular: to promote human rights, good governance, democracy and peace in order to foster equitable justice; to fight against all forms of discrimination and to improve the status of women and girls. It has a network of 12 fixed legal clinics and two mobile legal clinics, enabling it to get closer to the population.

RESPONSIBILITIES 
The volunteer will be responsible for : 

Support the Association des Femmes Juristes de Côte d’Ivoire (AFJCI) in :

  • The development and revision of monitoring and evaluation tools for the actions carried out 
  • The operationalisation of a harmonised data collection system
  • The improvement of the organisation's management processes and the development of related tools
  • Carrying out the mid-term review of the strategic plan through workshops to reflect on and analyse the organisational strategic axes
  • Strengthening the process of capitalising on the organisation's experiences and good practices (clarification, creation of related tools, etc.)
  • Strengthening the partner organisation's capacity in action research and monitoring and evaluation techniques that adopt an inclusive approach favouring the participation of girls, boys and other marginalised groups 
  • Develop and conduct training in the use of data collection and monitoring tools, as well as data analysis and reporting
  • Support the strengthening of the partner organisation in work organisation, information management, communication and any other activities related to its expertise

Other tasks related to the PRIDE project :  

  • Support the start-up of PRIDE's Social Laboratory activities
  • Write progress reports on the activities carried out
  • Participate in the promotion of international volunteering in Canada by participating in IBCR's communication efforts (writing articles or blog posts on the volunteering experience, videos, interviews, events...) 

 
 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

REQUIREMENTS : 

Technical skills :  

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in organisational management, monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) or equivalent
  • At least 2-4 years experience in methods for evaluating the results of projects and/or social processes
  • Proven experience in developing monitoring and evaluation tools
  • Strong analytical and writing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Outlook (Teams, mail, SharePoint, Forms, etc.) and Google (Google Docs, Google Drive, Gmail, etc.). 

Human skills :  

  • Highly adaptable and flexible in the face of change
  • Excellent interpersonal and participatory skills
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, multi-task and be proactive 
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and gender equality
  • Promotion of a culture of learning and knowledge sharing within the partner organisation's team and with other volunteers 

Assets

  • Experience in a developing country or in international cooperation
  • Knowledge of and/or interest in human or children's rights
  • Knowledge of gender equality principles
