Adult Education Advisor

*Open to Canadian citizens and/or permanent residents of Canada only

Deployment period: September 2022 - February 2023 - June 2023

Working language: French or Spanish (depending on the country of intervention)

Duration of the mandate: 10 months 




Under the responsibility of the PRIDE Regional Manager, the volunteer advisor will work with the partner organisation to ensure the implementation of individual and organisational capacity building activities in the framework of the volunteer cooperation programme. The candidate will advise, assist and provide technical support to the partner organisation's team in their reflections and work in the field of adult education.  The post holder will also contribute to the development of communication reports and articles related to the activities developed and implemented during his/her mandate.


  • Ensure the implementation activities of the PRIDE programme and the establishment of trustworthy relationships with partner organisation;
  • Contribute to the development of training of instructors in the field of adult education;
  • Assist the partner organisation in the development of a management tool to record good practice in the training of social workers;
  • Support the partner organisation in the development of training tools on children's rights for social workers;
  • Contribute to the capacity building of the partner organisation's trainers to ensure the respect of children's rights;
  • Support the partner organisation to contribute to the capacity building of trainers to ensure gender equality;
  • Support the organisation in activities related to the Social Laboratory;
  • Participate in the initial mapping of actors and updating of the child protection system profile of the country of intervention;
  • Write progress reports on the activities implemented in collaboration with the partner organisation;
  • Write articles on the work done and the experience of the volunteer cooperation;
  • Upon request of the supervisor, carry out any other task related to his/her skills and the smooth running of the programme.

*The responsibilities are given as an example and may differ from the elaborated mandate that will be proposed to the candidate. All mandates are developed with the partners and every tasks are based on their needs.




  • Permanent residence or Canadian citizenship;
  • University degree in humanities, international relations, management or related field;
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of significant work experience in functions related to training or relevant experience related to the position;
  • Ability to analyse, organise and synthesise;
  • Fluency in written and spoken French. The person must be able to write, revise, comment on and correct texts in French and, for the mandates in Central and South America, a command of written and spoken Spanish;
  • Expertise in new information technologies;
  • Excellent ability to work as part of a team while being autonomous in his/her work;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010 (especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
  • Cultural sensitivity and adaptability;


  • Possessing a specialist degree or Master's degree;
  • Experience in working abroad;
  • Knowledge in international development issues
  • Knowledge in children's rights;
  • Knowledge in gender equality principles;
  • Knowledge in results-based management and the human rights-based approach;
  • Knowledge in Arabic or Malagasy (intermediate or advanced level)
  • Experience in voluntary cooperation;
  • Knowledge in security measures in international cooperation.
