Project Management Consultant

SUMMARY OF THE OFFER

The International Bureau for Children's Rights (IBCR), a Canadian NGO dedicated to the protection and promotion of children's rights, is looking for a project management consultant to support its partner, the Ado+ association, as part of its PRIDE (Project for the Integral Strengthening of Children's Rights) voluntary cooperation programme.

Through this mandate, share your skills and expertise in order to advise, strengthen and train the Ado+ team in the internal management of the organisation and in project management, in order to support them in the implementation of their mission.

ABOUT THE PARTNER

ADO+ is a Tunisian non-profit association founded in 2011, during a period marked by social, cultural and political changes in Tunisia. ADO+ was born in this context to contribute to the shaping of the Tunisian nation by raising awareness and building the skills of adolescents to advocate for their rights and participate in public affairs that concern them.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

The volunteer will be responsible for : 

  • Support Ado+ in :
    • Analysing the organisation's project management needs
    • Drafting projects, calls for proposals, monitoring and evaluation of its projects, etc.
    • Strengthening its organisational management
  • Develop project management, planning and monitoring tools and training in project management adapted to the organisation
  • Actively participate in initiatives, events or activities planned by the partner organisation in the framework of PRIDE
  • Support the strengthening of the partner organisation in all other activities related to its expertise

Other tasks related to the PRIDE project :  

  • Support the animation of PRIDE's Social Laboratory activities
  • Write progress reports on the activities carried out during the mandate 
  • Participate in the promotion of international volunteering in Canada by participating in IBCR's communication efforts (writing articles or blog posts on the volunteering experience, videos, interviews, events...)
  • At the request of his/her line manager, carry out any other task related to his/her skills and the smooth running of the programme

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Requirements: 

Technical skills : 

  • Undergraduate degree in management, social sciences or related field
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of significant work experience in project management, public policy or other experience relevant to the mandate
  • Ability to prepare and facilitate training, and provide recommendations
  • Experience in the development and/or use of project management tools
  • Knowledge of organisational management, organisational diagnosis and/or strategic planning-Strong analytical and writing skills
  • Strong analytical and writing skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken French. The person must be able to write, revise, comment and correct texts in French.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and tools from the Outlook environment (Teams, mail, SharePoint, Forms, etc.) and Google (Google Docs, Google Drive, Gmail, etc.)

  • Highly adaptable and flexible in the face of change
  • Excellent interpersonal and participatory skills
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, multi-task and be proactive
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and gender equality
  • Promotion of a culture of learning and knowledge sharing within the partner organisation's team and with other volunteers

Assets 

  • Knowledge of Darija 'Tunsi'
  • Knowledge of results-based management
  • Experience in a developing country or in international cooperation
  • Knowledge of and/or interest in human and/or children's rights
  • Knowledge of gender equality principles-Knowledge of international development issues
  • Knowledge of Canada's volunteer cooperation programme
