Together Stronger: International Development Week 2020

International Development Week is an annual crossroads for meetings and exchanges on global issues, promoting the contribution of Canadians to poverty reduction and humanitarian assistance.

For this 30th edition, the theme chosen is “Go for the Goals” where the collaborative approach towards the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will be highlighted. The Bureau joins 10 other organisations in inviting you to attend the event ” Together Stronger” on the 6th of February. You will be able to meet the IBCR volunteers as part of the “human library”, where they will discuss their positive contribution to children’s rights in our various missions abroad.

During an exciting conversation, human books will open to tell you about their experience in improving living conditions around the world. Four rounds of discussion will be organised (5:00 pm, 5:40 pm, 6:20 pm, 7:30 pm). Participate as much as you wish, following your availability!

How does a human library work?

Each round of conversations will last 20 minutes. Before each round you will have to choose the story you want to hear and then go to meet the human behind it.

Intrigued? A link to the virtual library will be sent to you a few weeks before the event.
