On September 29th 2017, the IBCR’s Director General presented at a conference on international humanitarian law organised by law students at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada. The 13th Annual International Humanitarian Law Conference focused on The Protection of Children in War. 

Mr. Landry made a presentation on the importance of pre-deployment training on child protection for peacekeeping personnel, as well as on the impact of neglecting the rights of children in contact with the law during armed conflicts or natural disasters.

He was part of a panel which included speakers from the Canadian Red-Cross, the Global Coalition to Prevent Education from Attack and Roméo Dallaire Child Soldier Initiative.
