Yesterday, the IBCR officially launched its mapping report on human trafficking prevention in Costa Rica. The project aims at strengthening capacities among police officers, personnel of the Judicial Investigation Body (OIJ), prosecutors and judges in the areas of detection, investigation and prosecution of human trafficking crimes. The purpose is also to develop a community awareness campaign and encourage the private sector to help prevent, identify and report these crimes. The Vice President Ana Helena Chacon, the President of the Supreme Court Zarela Villanueva and the Ambassador of Canada Michael Gort attended the presentation.
