Maureen Boutier

Graduating in 2020 with a Master’s degree in International Law from the University of Montreal and in 2021 with a Certificate in Women’s Studies from Concordia University, Maureen Boutier has consolidated her skills in human rights and gender equality. Maureen has a keen intersectional perspective on gender inequalities of girls in Quebec and elsewhere.

She has joined associations such as Women’s in international security UDEM where she is the general secretary. Through her actions, she promotes the professional development and leadership of women in international security. In addition, she is a volunteer in the association Mother with Power where she supports single mothers in order to empower them.

In 2021, she completed a 6-month internship at the IBCR, where her role was to support the expertise team on strengthening human rights from a gender perspective. Stimulated by the values and work of the Office, she enthusiastically joined the IBCR’s team in 2022. Maureen is fluent in French and English, and has a basic knowledge of Spanish.
