Eric Jean

Eric Jean graduated from ENAP in International Administration and started his humanitarian career in 2003 in Afghanistan with Médecins du Monde Canada. He then carried out 9 other humanitarian missions in emergency and post-emergency contexts with international medical organisations such as Médecins sans Frontières France and the WHO. He has held positions as emergency logistician, operations coordinator and head of mission in Central and West Africa, South East Asia and Haiti.

Between 2015 and 2020, Mr. Jean was Director of the Risk and Security Management Programme at OCCAH ESG-UQAM. He has provided consultancy and training to Quebec government ministries, NGOs and universities in their implementation of the Duty of Care.

In recent years, Mr. Jean has diversified his expertise in the fields of humanitarian negotiation and intercultural communication, notably writing an article entitled “Intercultural Communication: a foundation to acceptance” under the aegis of the GISF.
