With a bachelor’s degree in business and computer science and a diploma (BAC+5) in economics and management from Kongo University, Descartes first worked as a coach-trainer and then as an accounting and administrative manager at I&F entrepreneurship. He has also worked in several non-profit associations as an accounting and financial consultant, including the Association of Women Physicians Working at Kongo Central, the Support Team Project for the Development of Family Initiatives and the Regional Support and Training Centre for Development.

He is proficient in a number of integrated management software packages and has also worked as a consultant for many private companies in the implementation of management software packages. Descartes has also been a researcher at the Center for Studies and Research on Economic Analysis and Policy in Brazzaville, where he gained expertise in statistical data analysis.

In August 2019, he joined the team as the Administrative and Financial Manager.
