As part of the capacity-building mandate of the National Council for Human Rights (CNDH) in Côte d'Ivoire, led by FANJA RAKOTONDRAINIBE, volunteer in Organizational Management, a training of trainers on the fight against child labor was organized by the CNDH, on June 27 and 28, 2024, in Abidjan.

After participative preparation of this training, between the CNDH, the volunteer and the participants, it was able to bring together some fifteen participants, on behalf of the CNDH, the State, civil society and partners in the defense and promotion of Children's Rights, and in the fight against child labor.

In his opening speech, Mr. YAPI Léonce, representing the President of the CNDH, said that the participants would be enriched and equipped to carry out their respective activities in the fight against child labor, and that the CNDH looked forward to fruitful collaborations with the same objective.

The main topics covered during the two-day training course were:

  • The institutional framework ;
  • The international, regional and national legal instruments ;
  • The policy and strategic frameworks
  • The various techniques for caring for child victims

The training was also an opportunity to share best practices and work in groups to put into practice what had been learned.

The pool of trainers will be available as resources and expertise for the CNDH and other players in the fight against child labor, for capacity-building actions or the implementation of intervention models.
