Guidelines adopted by the UN

The IBCR was determined to have its Guidelines practically implemented on the ground level, as well being used to sensitize decision makers to the situation of children who are victims and witnesses to crime. As such, IBCR lobbied for the adoption of the Guidelines by the United Nations; this goal was realized in 2005 when the United Nations adopted the Guidelines.  As a result, the Guidelines are now part of the norms and standards of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes (UNODC).
